I have experience helping people get into all of these companies so I know what the interview process is like. For me, I usually talk about how I grew up in poverty my parents came here from Vietnam without even graduating from high school over there. It grounds me and makes me really appreciate the amazing opportunity right in front of my eyes. I also grew up with a single parent most of my life and being the oldest sibling out of 3, I paid for college, while working 3 sales jobs (see the plug on why sales is awesome) to help my mom pay for rent and went to college full time while working 40 hours a week so that my mom wouldn't have to give me a dollar has taught me a ton about work ethic and the value that sales have in any organization(We are the lifetime of any business). Then you always have to finish painting the picture. Which goes something like this. That is why I am always the hardest working person in the room. Always at every company, I have worked at. One of my goals in life is to buy my mom a house because we have always rented and lived off of food stamps.

I do something somewhat similar in the navy here (coordinating unit movements over radio) as a reservist, and I've always been curious about what it would be like on the ATC side of things. Most of my coworkers are people who dabbled in post-secondary but either lost interest in their field, completed their education in their field but did not like the work, or completely lost interest in academia. If I had to estimate, I would say: 50% zero or incomplete post secondary, 35% complete post secondary in a less demanding or profitable field, 15% complete post secondary in a profitable field that they moved on from for whatever reason.
The hardest part of the job now is dealing with nasty people all day every day on the phone. Plenty of opportunities for growing through exposure to the complexities of the justice system. Enjoyed every moment as well as meeting others with the same passion of culture and language. Fast paced work environment. Lots of patience need to be able to work here. Fair compensation. Excellent job stability. Opportunity for advancement. Recommended. Work is part time, and there are lot of people doing the same assignments, so very competitive. Pay is good if you can get the jobs. People are friendly and the supervisors are nice but there is not a lot of work. Team member roles are not clear, so it takes a while to figure out what is expected of you and how to get promoted. Unfortunately, politics precludes longer tenure.
